Trailside Physician Group offers the opportunity to join a community-based primaryhealth care team serving the Arthur, Fergus, and Elora areas. We are looking for atalented team player to join us.


Position Summary
The Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) will collaborate with the physicians and otherinterdisciplinary providers to achieve the mission and vision of the organization.


The RPN reports to the Office Manager, and is responsible for working within the fullscope of practice set out by the College of Nurses of Ontario. The RPN must possessthe ability to function effectively in a team environment with physicians, nurses, alliedhealth professionals and administrative staff. The role also requires a high level ofinterpersonal skills to interact with patients and their families. In addition, the RPNpossesses and utilizes the knowledge, skill and judgment to function autonomouslywithin the full scope of practice.


Requirements

  • Certification of registration in good standing as a Registered Practical Nurse through theCollege of Nurses of Ontario, currently requiring the completion of a post-secondarydiploma in Practical Nursing
  • RPNAO (insurance) member preferred Current CPR Certification
  • Valid Ontario Drivers’ License and access to own method of reliable transportation
  • Experience in a primary care, long-term care or hospital setting preferable
  • Able to function as a team player working collaboratively with other Riverview MedicalGroup staff and community partners
  • Excellent communication, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Positive attitude
  • Working knowledge of Mac/Apple, Proficiency in TELUS EMR system is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Provide mutual support to other nursing staff within the Riverview Medical Group colleagues and other staff members
  • Support in-person and virtual appointments
  • Apply recognized clinical practice guidelines and best practices to screening, monitoring, and assessment of patient’s physical and emotional well-being
  • Provide care and management for patients with a wide range of health issues
  • Knowledge and experience working collaboratively with community resources
  • Maintain professional competence and remain current (e.g. evidenced-based care) through ongoing participation in professional development
  • Occasional after hours support as required

  • Demonstrate an understanding of chronic disease management and patient self-carestrategies
  • Ability to keep confidential all information regarding patients, health care providers,employees, business operations and clinic/team functioning
  • Professionalism displayed through mannerisms, attire and response to stressfulsituations
  • Organizational ability to prioritize a wide range of job activities with accuracy and speed
  • Communication skills which reflect the ability to work well in a team environment whilemaintaining respect and attentiveness to patients and fellow team members
  • Problem solving skills to identify and effectively solve problems and to help patients andteam members solve problems
  • Time management abilities to effectively set priorities and complete tasks within agreedupon timeframes
