Job summary

Tri-County Mennonite Homes is seeking a compassionate Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to join our Nithview Community in New Hamburg, Ontario, in a part-time and casual capacity within the Retirement Living team.

You will provide resident-centred nursing care, perform assessments, coordinate care plans, administer medications, and support Personal Support Workers, all while upholding dignity, independence and safety for our senior residents.

Qualifications

• Current registration as a Registered Practical Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
• Current CPR certification.
• Ability to practice within the RPN scope of practice.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, health care providers, and care staff.
• Ability to document accurately and objectively.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Successful completion of a Vulnerable Sector Check and all required pre-employment health requirements.

Responsibilities

Position Summary

The Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) provides clinical leadership, nursing assessment, care coordination, and oversight of resident care at Nithview Retirement.

The RPN is responsible for assessing residents' changing needs, developing and maintaining individualized care plans, coordinating medication changes and new medication orders, communicating with residents and families, collaborating with physicians, nurse practitioners, pharmacy and other health care providers, and monitoring the care provided by UCP/PSW staff.

The RPN supports the delivery of safe, resident-centred care while promoting resident dignity, choice, independence, quality of life, and safety.

The RPN practices within their professional scope, applicable legislation and regulations, College of Nurses of Ontario standards, and Nithview policies and procedures.

Hourly pay rate is $29.60 to 34.56.
