Job summary

Belmont House in Ontario, Canada seeks a practical nurse to join its team. The role involves administering medications, applying sterile dressings, collecting specimens, and maintaining infection control within a geriatric setting.

You will take vital signs, educate patients and families on safety/health, and provide nursing services per patient assessment and care plans. Licensing and BCLS/CPR certifications are required.

Qualifications

• Eligible for licensure as a practical nurse in the province of work.
• Completion of Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Examination.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certificate; CPR and First Aid Certificates.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications.
• Apply aseptic techniques including sterile dressing.
• Conduct specimen collection.
• Ensure infection control.
• Take vital signs.
• Provide safety and health education to individuals and their families.
• Provide nursing services within defined scope of practice based on patient assessment and care planning procedures.
• Monitor patient progress and evaluate effectiveness of nursing interventions.
