Job summary

Brightshores Health System in Owen Sound is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse to join the Patient Access & Flow Float Pool. You will rotate to departments/sites needing staffing support, delivering care within your scope and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team.

Travel to rural sites may be required; this full-time role offers a competitive wage under the OPSEU – SERVICE collective agreement, with mileage paid as per the collective agreement.

Qualifications

• RPN Certificate of Competence with the Ontario College of Nurses.
• Ability to work at full scope of practice.
• Physical Assessment Course or equivalent.
• Competency in aseptic technique, urinary catheterization, administration of medications, IV therapy, POCT.
• Excellent organizational and patient assessment skills.

Job description

DEPARTMENT: PATIENT ACCESS & FLOW (FLOAT POOL)

POSITION LOCATION: OWEN SOUND (& ASSIGNMENT TO RURAL SITES)

UNION AFFILIATION: OPSEU – SERVICE

STATUS: FULL-TIMEREASON TO POST: DIRECT REPLACEMENT

WAGE RATE: $37.071 - $38.157 (MILEAGE WILL BE PAID AS PER THE COLLECTIVE AGREEMENT)

As a member of the Float Pool the RPN will be assigned to work in the department/site that is requiring additional staffing support. The RPN will work collaboratively as a member of the inter-disciplinary team to provide care to those patients with a stable and predictable outcome within the defined professional scope of practice as set out by the CNO. The RPN is responsible for the promotion of health and the assessment of, the provision of care of, and the treatment of health conditions by supportive, preventative, therapeutic, palliative and rehabilitative means to patients in order to attain or maintain optimal function.

While the successful candidate will have the option to select 2 preferred sites, it is understood that travel may be required to all sites in the corporation.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:
