Reporting to the Patient Care Manager, you will work independently within your scope of practice when the patient's condition indicates predictable outcome and you will deliver nursing care based on a pre-set plan of care with a delineated range of intervention. You will collaborate with and get directions from the RN in situations that are beyond the scope of complexity designated to you as a RPN. You will be part of a busy department with beds for palliative care patients, as well as oncology and general medical patients and a team whose focus is on maximizing the patient's health and function. In this unit, there is a staffing mix of both RNs and RPNs. In this role, you will engage in ethical conduct and you will provide high quality nursing care to patients and their families, based on the philosophy and conceptual framework of Nursing Practice at Scarborough Health Network. You will strive to understand and appreciate the diversity of our patient population and workforce.
