Job summary

Brant Community Healthcare System is seeking an OR nurse to provide comprehensive perioperative care in a two-site hospital in Brantford, Ontario. You will work with an interprofessional team to ensure patient safety and high-quality nursing care in the operating room.

The role requires a college nursing diploma, current CNO registration, BCLS, a post-grad OR course, and at least 1 year OR experience. Excellent communication and multitasking abilities are essential.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited college nursing program.
  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
  • Completion of post-grad Operating Room course required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year current Operating Room experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care in the operating room.
  • Support perioperative procedures and patient safety.
  • Collaborate with inter-professional team for efficient turnover.
  • Adhere to infection prevention controls and PPE guidelines.
  • Document patient status and care progress accurately.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Manager, Operating Room, PACU and Day Surgery, the successful applicant will be responsible for comprehensive nursing care in the operating room and must meet the following criteria:

Mandatory Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited college nursing program
  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
  • Completion of post-grad Operating Room course required
  • Minimum of one (1) year current Operating Room experience required.
