Job description

Bonuses:
  • SLMHC Recruitment Bonus: $2,500 probation bonus, plus an additional $2,500 upon one-year completion.
  • Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Centre partners with Health Force Ontario (HFO) as an approved employer for the Community Commitment Program for Nurses (CCPN), offering a $25,000 retention bonus in exchange for a 24-month, full-time commitment.
  • Additional CCPN Northern Incentives:
  • Top-Up grant of $10,000, paid in $5,000 installments after 4 and 8 months of employment.
  • Northern Relocation Grant of $10,000, paid in $5,000 installments upon starting employment and after 4 months.
Job Summary:

The Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Centre seeks a licensed RPN responsible for assessing, planning, and providing interventions according to the Standards of Practice (College of Nurses of Ontario), aligned with hospital goals for assigned patients.

Qualifications:
  • Current certificate of competence with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a licensed Registered Practical Nurse.
  • Current Basic CPR certificate.
  • Current pharmacology certificate.
  • Preferred: 6 months to 1 year of experience.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact effectively with staff and residents.
Job Duties:
  • Provide nursing interventions within the RPN Scope of Practice.
  • Availability to work all shifts and sites as assigned.
  • Willingness to work the current 12-hour shift rotation.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize tasks.
  • Adopt a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
  • Effective communication and adaptability to changing situations.
  • Consistent attendance is essential.
  • Understanding of First Nation culture; speaking Oji-Cree is an asset.
  • Adhere to infection control policies, including cleaning, hand hygiene, and PPE use; attend necessary training.
