St. Joseph's Health Care London seeks a Registered Practical Nurse for Mount Hope Centre for Long Term Care – Marian Villa in London, ON. This 1-position role covers an evening shift and requires current Ontario nursing registration, CPR, and a vulnerable sector police check.

Qualifications

• Current certificate of registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Minimum of two years recent experience in the care of the elderly and/or younger physically challenged adults.
• Valid CPR certificate.
• Police record check completed within the last six months from CPIC, including vulnerable sector screening.
• Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with OHSA.
• Proficiency and experience in pharmacology and medication administration.
• Recent experience with catheter injections, irrigations, sub q and IM injections, and G-tube care maintenance.
• Understanding of and recent and relevant experience in asepsis.
• Demonstrated effective communication, interpersonal, organization, and leadership skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
• Proficiency in French would be an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care to elderly and/or younger physically challenged adults in Mount Hope Centre for Long Term Care.
• Administer medications and perform injections according to orders.
• Maintain asepsis and infection control in clinical duties.
• Collaborate with health care team and engage in role-related teaching and research activities as required.
• Ensure documentation and communication with the care team and families.

1 x Evening Shift

It is understood that the hours of work reflect the current scheduling arrangements and are subject to change as determined by the Employer.

Essential Qualifications

• Current certificate of registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Minimum of two years recent experience in the care of the elderly and/or younger physically challenged adults
• Valid CPR certificate
• A police record check completed within the last six (6) months from a Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC), inclusive of vulnerable sector screening, will be required of the successful candidate
• Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA
• Proficiency and experience in pharmacology and medication administration
• Recent experience with catheter injections, irrigations, sub q and IM injections, and G-tube care maintenance
• Understanding of and recent and relevant experience in use of asepsis

Preferred Qualifications
