Job summary

St. Joseph's Health Care London is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse for Mount Hope Float Pool in London, ON. The role requires current Ontario RPN registration and a minimum of two years of geriatric or care for physically challenged adults, with CPR certification and strong teamwork skills.

Responsibilities include medication administration, catheter/injections as applicable, asepsis practices, and contributing to a safe care environment. CPIC clearance within six months is required.

Qualifications

• Current certificate of registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Minimum of two years recent experience in elderly and/or younger physically challenged adults.
• Valid CPR certificate.
• Knowledge of Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with OHSA.
• Proficiency and experience in pharmacology and medication administration.
• Recent experience with catheter injections, irrigations, sub q and IM injections, and G-tube care maintenance.
• Understanding of asepsis and related practices.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, organization, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Police record check (CPIC) with vulnerable sector screening within the last six months.

Salary Range: $39.96 - $40.37 /hour

Essential Qualifications

• Current certificate of registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Minimum of two years recent experience in the care of the elderly and/or younger physically challenged adults
• Valid CPR certificate
• Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA
• Proficiency and experience in pharmacology and medication administration
• Recent experience with catheter injections, irrigations, sub q and IM injections, and G-tube care maintenance
• Understanding of and recent and relevant experience in use of asepsis
• Demonstrated effective communication, interpersonal, organization, and leadership skills
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
• A police record check completed within the last six (6) months from a Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC), inclusive of vulnerable sector screening, will be required of the successful candidate

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in French would be an asset
