  • Rate of Pay: $36.33 - $38.16/hr

Qualifications
  • Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Practical Nurse
  • Current experience in Maternal & Child (within 2 years).
  • Completion of Perinatal Certificate (courses in process may be considered).
  • Breastfeeding Course – current within 5 years (courses in process may be considered).
  • Demonstrated interest and knowledge in family centered maternity care.
  • Demonstrated ability to function in emergency situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated excellence in communication skills.
  • Competency in clinical skills, including:
    • Aseptic Technique/Application of Sterile Dressing/Suture & Clip Removal.
    • Ability to manage IV’s – vascular access skills
    • Female Urinary Catheterization.
    • Oropharyngeal/Nasopharyngeal Suctioning (adult/ neonate).
    • Capillary blood collection / point of care testing (adult / neonate)
    • Physical Assessment of the postpartum mother and newborn
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) current certification (courses in process may be considered).
  • CPR (Basic Rescuer Level C).
  • Knowledgeable of College of Nurses Standards.
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality and patient safety, considers safety of self and co-workers.
