Job summary

Guelph Community Health Centre in Shelldale, Ontario, is hiring a part-time Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) for 28 hours per week in a permanent role within our Primary Health program. The successful candidate will welcome patients, assign exam rooms, perform intake procedures and support practitioners.

This position emphasizes safe, high-quality care, triage, immunizations, phlebotomy and maintaining supplies, while working with a multidisciplinary team to remove barriers to health.

Qualifications

• Current registration as an RPN with the CNO.
• 3–5 years broad-based practical nursing experience in a community primary health care setting.
• Thorough knowledge of nursing principles and practices.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team.
• Proficiency with electronic charting.

• Maintains smooth and efficient flow of patients through their appointments.

• Ensures adequate supply of common medications and medical supplies.
• Perform phlebotomy and collection of other specimens for testing.

The Registered Practical Nursemaintainsthe smooth and efficient flow of patients through their appointments by receiving patients, assigning them to exam rooms,undertaking prescribed intake procedures, andassistingthe practitioners, asrequested. Required Qualifications:

• Current registration as a Registered Practical Nursewith the CNO
• Completed current medicationcourse
• Thorough knowledge and proficiency in current nursing principles and practices
• 3-5 years broad-based practical nursing experience - a community primary health care setting desired
• Treat each client with compassion, dignity and respect even in the face of challenging situations
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment
• Demonstrated commitment to and knowledge of community-based health care
• Computer proficiency with electronic charting
