Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare (MAHC) seeks a Registered Nurse to support multiple clinical areas at the Huntsville and South Muskoka hospital sites. The role focuses on direct patient care, care planning, and ensuring continuity across handoffs.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong communication, independent work capability, and adaptability, with a commitment to quality care and patient safety. Availability for varied shifts is required.

Responsabilidades

• Provide support to all clinical areas of the hospital within scope of practice.
• Administer direct nursing care for assigned patients.
• Plan, organize and deliver nursing care in various settings.
• Initiate and assist in Code Blue & Rapid Response.
• Communicate patient needs and priorities to nursing staff and physicians.
• Participate in quality control activities and raise quality issues to management.
• Engage in educational activities to maintain competency.
• Perform duties including occasional escort for patient transfers.

Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare (MAHC) is a multi-site organization that includes the Huntsville District Memorial Hospital Site and the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital Site, and together we provide outstanding, integrated care to support people in living their healthiest lives.

ROLE

• The nurse fulfilling this role will be required to provide support to all clinical areas of the hospital according to their scope of practice and clinical expertise,
• To administer direct nursing care for patients in those areas assigned.
• Plans, organizes, and delivers nursing care in a variety of settings.
• Initiate and assist in Code Blue & Rapid Response procedure.
• Plans for and communicates to other nursing staff regarding patient needs and priorities when leaving one patient care area to ensure continuity of care.
• Communicates to physicians, other departments or organizations, regarding issues affecting patient care.
• Participates in quality control activities and understands the quality care goals of the organization.
• The individual is vigilant in ensuring that quality issues are brought to the attention of the appropriate manager/coordinator.
• Participate in educational activities to maintain and advance competency and experience in all areas of patient care.
• Performs other duties as required including occasional escort duties for patients being transferred to other institutions for diagnostic and therapeutic interventions.

Required Education & Certification(s)

• Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support)
• IV Therapy

Desired Skills, Experience(s) & Education

• 2 years of previous Complex Continuing Care, Long Term Care or Medical/Surgical nursing experience

Additional Information

Location: Huntsville District Memorial Hospital (HDMH) located in Huntsville. Applicants must reside within 125km of one of our hospital campuses or be willing to relocate prior to starting. *Exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis

Hours of Work: Must be available to work shifts including days, evenings, nights and weekends. Shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements per the collective agreement.
