Job summary

Sault Area Hospital is seeking a qualified perioperative nurse to join our surgical team in Sault Ste. Marie. You will provide nursing care in accordance with College of Nurses standards and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient care.

The role requires 2–3 years of current surgical experience, Ontario certification, and IV therapy training. You will contribute to patient education and uphold safety, quality, and unit objectives within our hospital framework.

Qualifications

• Certificate of competency in Ontario.
• IV Therapy course required.
• Two to three years current surgical experience.

Experience

Knowledge

• Demonstrated clinical competency in the management and care of peri-operative patients, including assessment, IV therapy, wound care, and knowledge of surgical procedures.
• Knowledge in the utilization and care of all mechanical equipment required for patient care.

Ability

• Demonstrated ability to be self-directed and work independently with minimal supervision, as well as effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Demonstrated proficiency in written and verbal communication, and in the use of the hospital’s computer systems.
