Job description

Reporting to the Clinic Manager, the Registered Practical Nurse will provide nursing care within the scope of an RPN working in a primary care clinic. The Registered Practical Nurse supports Primary Care Providers with health assessments prior to patient appointments as well as delivery of services as outlined in established Medical Directives.

Qualifications:
  • Current Ontario RPN License and in good standing with College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Experience working with electronic medical records considered an asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong morals and ethics, along with commitment to privacy.
  • Demonstrates ability to assist patients with concerns communicating in a courteous and respectful manner.
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Clean Vulnerable Sector Criminal Reference Check, Driver’s Abstract and proof of COVID-19 vaccination required.
  • Ability to speak Ojibway and prior experience in working with Aboriginal people, a definite asset.
  • Experience and understanding of local Indigenous communities and culture within the Southern Region of Treaty #3.
