Job summary

AgeCare Gibson in Willowdale, Ontario, is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to deliver professional nursing care to residents under the supervision of the Registered Nurse. You will guide Personal Support Workers, liaise with physicians, and participate in shift reports to ensure residents receive timely and appropriate care.

We value a solid background in geriatric or long-term care nursing, knowledge of relevant legislation and standards, and a current Ontario College of Nurses

Qualifications

• Background in geriatric, rehabilitation or long-term care nursing.
• Knowledge of relevant health acts, standards and safety regulations.
• Current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the RN and liaise with physicians and health care team members.
• Provide direction to Personal Support Workers on the care team.
• Participate in shift reports to inform staff of changes in resident status.
• Notify physicians of significant changes in resident status when RN is unavailable.

Provides input into the revision of procedures within the residence and the unit.* Liaises with physicians and other members of the health care team including external health care partners.
