Job summary

Humber River Health in Toronto is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse to join the Medicine, 9 West Unit in the Acute Inpatient Medicine Program. This permanent full-time role offers an evening shift schedule (8 hours, 15:30–23:30) at the Wilson Site, with a competitive hourly wage.

Responsibilities include delivering Registered Practical Nursing care as outlined by the College of Nurses of Ontario, patient health teaching, and collaboration with the care team.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a recognized Registered Practical Nursing two year diploma program.
• Current RPN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
• Minimum 1 year acute medical/surgical experience, preferred.
• Current BCLS certification.

Employment Status: Permanent Full Time

Reporting Relationship: Manager, 9 E&W Nephrology & Medicine

Hourly Rate: $38.893 - $39.458

Union Group: NOWU

Hours of work: 8 hour evening shift 15:30-23:30 hrs, rotating weekdays and weekends.

Position Responsibilities:

Registered Practical Nursing duties as outlined by the College of Ontario Nurses.

Qualifications:

• Graduate from a recognized Registered Practical Nursing two year diploma program.
• Current RPN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Minimum 1 year acute medical/surgical experience, preferred.
• Current BCLS certification.
• Excellent organizational skills with an ability to set priorities.
• Experience with patient health teaching.
• Demonstrate adherence to the hospital's code of conduct.
• Demonstrate competency in a variety of skills including (but not limited to), intramuscular injections, intravenous therapy initiation and discontinuation, Blood Transfusion, Wound Care Dressing, Medication Administration, etc.
• Proven attendance record.
• Basic computer skills and Meditech experience is an asset.
• Knowledge of community resources.
• Excellent attendance and discipline free record required.
