Job summary

Humber River Health in Toronto is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse to join the 8 West, Acute Medicine Unit. You will provide high-quality, safe care in a fast-paced hospital setting, with evenings and rotating weekends.

The ideal candidate will hold an Ontario RPN license with a two-year diploma, current BCLS, and strong organizational skills. Experience in acute medical/surgical care and knowledge of Meditech are assets.

Qualifications

• RPN responsibilities set out by the department.

Qualifications:

• Graduate from a recognized Registered Practical Nursing two year diploma program.
• Current RPN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Current BCLS certification.
• Excellent organizational skills with an ability to set priorities.
• Experience with patient health teaching.
• Demonstrate adherence to the hospital's code of conduct
• Demonstrate competency in a variety of skills including (but not limited to), intramuscular injections, intravenous therapy initiation and discontinuation, Blood Transfusion, Wound Care Dressing, Medication Administration, etc.
• Minimum 1 year acute medical/surgical experience, preferred.
• Basic computer skills and Meditech experience is an asset.
• Knowledge of community resources.
• Excellent attendance and discipline free record required.
