Job summary

Aspira Rockland Manor Retirement Living in Ontario is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse (Casual) to cover vacations and open shifts. The on-call schedule includes 7:00am-3:00pm, 3:00pm-11:00pm, and 11:00pm-7:00am shifts, with a pay rate of $27.00 per hour.

As part of Sienna Senior Living, you will provide compassionate, high-quality care, supporting residents’ health and dignity while collaborating with a caring team in a welcoming home.

Qualifications

  • Current registration as an RPN with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • BCLS certificate current.
  • Medication Administration Certificate current.
  • Minimum one year in geriatric nursing or related care as an RPN.
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit.
  • Must pass Vulnerable Sector Check.

This is a Casual (On-Call) position covering vacations and open shifts.

  • 7:00am-3:00pm, 3:00pm-11:00pm, 11:00pm-7:00am
  • must have some weekend availably

What you’ll be doing:

As a Registered Practical Nurse, you will provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care that supports residents’ health, safety, and overall well-being. As an individual and part of a wider team, you will be a strong contributor to the culture of the home, where the focus is always on helping residents live fully, every day.

What makes you a great fit?
  • Strong knowledge of safe medication administration, with the ability to prepare and administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and the College of Nurses of Ontario standards
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills, with the ability to following up on all concerns and complaints forwarded by a Client, family or team members and informs/seeks assistance from the Registered Nurse or designate
  • Promoting the Client’s self-care and self-sufficiency, emphasize adaptation and abilities, promote wellness and provide preventative health education, thus by treating the whole person
  • Proven ability to complete assessments, RAPS, and individualized care plans accurately and within required timeframes
  • Supporting the unregulated care workers through guidance, direction, training and education
  • Post-graduate studies in Geriatrics and Nursing Administration is an asset
  • Performing other duties as assigned
What you need to know:
  • Current registration as a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certificate.
  • Current Medication Administration Certificate.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in Geriatric Nursing, Healthcare and/or Rehabilitation as a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN).
  • You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work/study permit
  • You must successfully pass a Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Sienna Senior Living may utilize artificial Intelligence to screen or assess applicants for this position
