Job summary

Loblaw Companies Limited in British Columbia is hiring a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) for the upcoming flu season. The role requires current registration with the College of Nurses of British Columbia and the ability to provide good standing verification.

You will identify patient needs, develop care plans, support timely admissions, and ensure proper handling of medications in accordance with policy and physician orders.

Qualifications

• RPN diploma and current registration with the College of Nurses BC.
• Geriatric nursing knowledge and nursing administration.
• Certification for intramuscular injections for influenza shots.
• Injection administration certificate and IMMS access.
• Current CPR license and valid liability insurance.

Responsibilities

• Utilize sound nursing practice principles and provide nursing care per policy and physician orders.
• Identify patient needs and develop/maintain care plans.
• Ensure timely and accessible admission for patients.
• Ensure drug control, supply and safety per shifts and protocols.

Loblaw is hiring a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) for the upcoming flu season. Current certificate of registration from College of Nurses of British Columbia (RPN) and ability to provide a copy of the nursing license to indicate good standing is required.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Utilize sound nursing practice principlesand provide nursing care in accordance with policy and patients’ physician's orders
• Identify the needs of patients and develop and maintain appropriate care plans
• Ensure a timely and accessible admission for the patients
• Ensure the supply, control and safe keeping of drugs and narcotics and ensure protocols are followed on all assigned shifts

Qualifications

• RPN - Diploma in Practical Nursing, current registration as Registered Practical Nurse with the College of Nurses
• Sound nursing knowledge in geriatric care and nursing administration
• Knowledge of the requirements of the appropriate sections of the Health Disciplines Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Pharmacy Act, Food & Drug Act
• Certified for intramuscular injection for influenza shots
• Must have injection administration certificate and IMMS access (IMMS access can be set up in pharmacy)
• Must have a current CPR license and valid liability insurance
