Job summary

Chartwell Master Care LP seeks a Registered Practical Nurse to support residents’ health and well-being with compassionate, person-centered care in a welcoming environment.

You will assess, monitor, and document care, collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, and lead care staff to ensure safe transitions and high-quality outcomes for residents and their families.

Qualifications

• Current registration with the provincial College of Nurses in good standing.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification.
• Experience working in care, retirement, or healthcare is an asset.
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities with residents, families, and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care in accordance with provincial standards, legislative requirements, and Chartwell policies.
• Monitor residents’ health status, administer medications and treatments, and document care.
• Support residents during their transition into the residence, ensuring comfort and information for families.
• Respond to resident or family concerns promptly and escalate as needed.
• Collaborate with allied health professionals and the interdisciplinary team for coordinated care.
• Provide leadership to personal support workers and care staff.
• Participate in team meetings, care conferences, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Promote a positive, respectful, and inclusive environment for residents, visitors, and staff.

As a Registered Practical Nurse at Chartwell, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the health and well-being of our residents. Your clinical expertise, empathy, and commitment to a positive resident experience will help create a safe, welcoming environment where residents feel supported, valued, and cared for every day.

What You’ll Do

Additional Requirements

• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
• Criminal Reference Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening required
• Physical ability to assist residents and perform tasks involving standing, bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling
• Preparedness to respond to emergency situations quickly and effectively
• Clear Criminal Background Check, VSS and TB Test where required
