Job summary

Bayshore Medical Personnel is hiring a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN/LPN) with 1 year of experience to join our Kingston, Ontario team. You will work in military health services, providing direct patient care in walk-in and appointment clinics including CDU, treatment rooms, and specialty clinics.

The role emphasizes screening, vaccinations, patient history and health assessments, and counseling on preventive care, under supervision of physicians and RNs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience in adult primary/ambulatory care within last 3 years.
• Registered/Licensed Practical Nurse with current license in province of practice.
• CPR/AED Level C or equivalent.
• N95 fit certificate within 2 years; WHMIS certification within 2 years.

Responsibilities

Bayshore Medical Personnel is excited to announce a Full-time Contract opportunity for a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN/LPN) with one (1) year of experience to join the team in Kingston, Ontario. We're looking for dedicated professionals to make a meaningful impact in Military Health Services! The successful RPN/LPN provides services to patients on a walk-in and appointment basis in various primary and ambulatory care settings such as the Care Delivery Unit (CDU), treatment room, and specialty clinic.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful applicant will provide direct patient care under the direction of physicians, Registered Nurses, and/or other healthcare providers.

Responsibilities could include, but are not limited to:

• COVID screening prior to patients entering the clinic;
• assistance with vaccinations;
• conducting patient history and physical assessments;
• performing selected diagnostic and therapeutic interventions; and
• counseling patients on preventive health care.

Qualifications

The RPN/LPN shall possess, as a minimum, one (1) full-time equivalent year of experiencewithin the last 3 years in nursing practice conducting patient assessments and providing direct nursing care for a broad range of diseases in the adult population in a primary care or ambulatory care setting.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

All LPNsmust, as a minimum, have:

• Graduated from a Practical Nursing Program approved by Council of the College of Nurses;
• Current and valid license from the provincial or territorial professional college or association in the province of practice; and
• Certificate of Standard First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider or equivalent such as Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation/Automated External Defibrillator (CPR/AED) Level C.

Other Requirements:

• Current N95 mask fit certificate CSA Standards Z94.4 (within 2 years)
• Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS) Certification (within 2 years)
