REGISTERED PRACTICAL NURSE

Role: Registered Practical Nurse

Status: Full-Time, Permanent

Schedule: Day shifts (6am-2pm), 10 shifts/bi-weekly

Location: Bayfield Manor Retirement, Kemptville, ON

As an RPN, you will help enhance the effective management and quality of nursing practice in accordance with standards set by governing bodies and internal policies.

You will be accountable for:

• Providing exceptional resident care while following protocols and physicians’ orders
• Observing, reporting, and recording vital signs, symptoms, and conditions of residents, and initiating remedial health measures where appropriate
• Organizing and directing care activities for residents
• Assisting in managing nursing and personal care staff
• Training and developing new staff, and referring concerns to the Director of Care

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and skills:

• Current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Bilingual in English and French is an asset but not required
• A caring heart and passion for senior care
• Eligible for registration with the Registered Practical Nurses Association of Ontario
• Experience in long-term care is an asset, with comprehensive knowledge of duties
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, prioritizing tasks effectively
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Creative problem-solving skills to see the big picture
