Job Summary & Requirements

RVH has the largest surgical program in the North Simcoe Muskoka Local Health Integration Network (NSM LHIN) with 65% of surgeons and approximately 80,000 surgical cases annually.

As the Registered Practical Nurse (RPN), you are a professional caregiver responsible and accountable for providing quality patient care within a delivery model in accordance with the organizational philosophy, policies, standards of care of the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, the College of Nurses (CNO), and all relevant legislation.

Please Note: This position will float between Surgery 2 & 3 inpatient units.

Job Requirements
  • Registered Practical Nursing Diploma or equivalent education to practice at full scope
  • Completion of recognized Medication Administration Course
  • Current Certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Current BCLS
  • Sound knowledge of nursing process and responsibilities of the profession
  • Membership in a professional association specific to the nursing service area
  • Functions independently within scope of practice
  • Computer literacy in current software applications
