What You’ll Be Doing

Reporting to the Executive Director of Product, you will be responsible for working within the Private Wealth head office group, specifically on behalf of the Wealth Solutions Product Team. This position will play a role in providing advisory support across CIBC Private Investment Counsel and CIBC Wood Gundy. The incumbent is responsible for assisting in the management of registered plans products, internal communications, and registered plan and referral advisory backup support, which may include referral tracking from time to time.

As a Registered Plan Specialist, you will support the Wood Gundy Registered Plan Senior Manager with day-to-day product management activities. This includes developing tactical plans, optimizing products, and executing plans upon management approval, all while ensuring compliance with applicable CIBC policies, standards, guidelines, and controls. You will exercise independent judgment within defined procedures and apply your product knowledge to develop proposals, reports, reviews, and other necessary support. Utilizing your professional analytical, communication, and application skills, you will assist in executing initiatives and production tasks, including maintaining reporting logs for Private Investment Council marketing presentations. Additionally, you will help implement tactical initiatives, including program enhancements and process improvements, to ensure the long-term success of the business.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. Details on your work arrangement (proportion of on-site and remote work) will be discussed at the time of your interview.

How You'll Succeed

  • Client Journey and Product Support: You will be reviewing, and assessing all key registered savings and investment client journeys to ensure a positive client experience while adhering to regulatory requirements. You will develop and maintain a strong knowledge of Wood Gundy registered savings products to assist frontline sales teams with their questions and escalations. Additionally, you will serve as a subject matter expert in CIBC’s Registered Plan documents and related regulatory and compliance processes, educating client service teams to provide accurate, timely, and value-added client advice. As part of your responsibilities, you will also act as the single point of contact for client escalations.

  • Self-Management and Problem-Solving Skills: You will schedule, organize, and carry out your work assignments according to established work plans, while also adjusting your work schedules as priorities change. You will exhibit well developed judgment and problem-solving abilities, allowing you to interpret and analyze both factual and conceptual information. This includes adapting general procedures or approaches when formulating responses to various problems and issues that may arise.

  • Collaboration and Relationship Building: You will foster relationships and collaborate with key internal partners to enhance communication and support across teams.

  • Strategic Planning and Execution: Using strategic planning and execution skills you will support strategy development and execution against strategic priorities, driving product enhancements and development.
