Registered Pharmacy Technician - PM CPAK Team (2pm - 10pm)

Why this role is important?

We are hiring a Registered Pharmacy Technician for Central Pharmacy Services Vial in Richmond Hill.

Reporting directly to the Production Team Lead, the Registered Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for ensuring that the prepared prescriptions are accurate and prepared in a timely manner.

What you'll do:

  • Practice within federal/provincial, regulatory/legal requirements, provincial Code of Ethics, Standards of Practice, and Policies, demonstrating professional integrity and acting to uphold a high level of professional standard of practice.
  • Responsible for ensuring accuracy of prepared medication by checking each prescription and ensuring legal compliance and product quality.
  • Responsible for ensuring appropriate corrections are completed when identified.
  • Accurately count and reconcile Narcotic and Controlled medications.
  • Responsible for checking products in an organized and efficient manner to maintain workflow and ensure delivery routes leave at their scheduled times.
  • Patient privacy and confidentiality is protected in accordance with regulations.
  • Keep current with and align with legal requirements, professional standards, and workplace policies and procedures.
  • Commitment to promoting a workplace of inclusiveness and belonging.
  • Ensure proper storage, handling, disposal of drugs and return to stock procedure in accordance with SOPs.

What you bring:

  • Licensed and registered with the College of Pharmacists as Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT), in good standing.
  • Liability insurance to legally practice as a RPhT.
  • A minimum of 1 year of continuous working experience in a pharmacy environment (Long Term Care, Hospital, or Retail).
  • Experience with high volume filling environments is preferred.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Complete work with minimal supervision.
  • Team player and leadership skills.
