Job summary

Lawtons in Bedford, Nova Scotia is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join our pharmacy team. The role involves preparing, processing and checking prescriptions with independent authority under provincial regulations. You will contribute to patient-centered care by ensuring accuracy and safety in every step of the dispensing process.

You will handle verbal prescriptions, transcriptions, transfers, and the final checks, while maintaining patient records with diligence and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Receive and transcribe verbal prescriptions from practitioners.
• Ensure prescriptions are complete and authentic.
• Provide injections/vaccinations where regulations allow.
• Transfer prescriptions to and from other pharmacies.
• Ensure the accuracy of prepared prescriptions.
• Conduct the final check of prepared prescriptions.
• Verify accuracy of drug and patient health information in records.

• Receiving and transcribing verbal prescriptions from practitioners
• Ensuring prescriptions are complete and authentic
• Providing injections/vaccinations as applicable by regulations in certain jurisdictions
• Transferring prescriptions to and receiving prescriptions from other pharmacies
• Ensuring the accuracy of prepared prescriptions
• Conducting the final check of prepared prescriptions
• Confirming the accuracy of drug and personal health information in patient records
