Job summary

Central Pharmacy Services is seeking a Licensed Pharmacy Technician (RPhT) in Burnaby, BC to join our fast-paced, high-tech central fill team. You will verify prescriptions, ensure legal compliance and product quality, count and reconcile narcotics, and support timely drug delivery while protecting patient privacy.

• Licensed and registered with the College of Pharmacists as a Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT).
• Minimum 1 year of continuous working experience in a pharmacy environment (retail/hospital/long-term care).
• Experience in high-volume filling environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accuracy of prepared medications by checking prescriptions for legal compliance and product quality.
• Count and reconcile Narcotic and Controlled medications.
• Maintain organized workflow and ensure delivery routes depart on schedule.
• Protect patient privacy and adhere to regulations and workplace policies.
• Work with PacMed or PacVision where applicable.

Why this role is important?

What you'll do:

• Responsible for ensuring accuracy of prepared medication by checking each prescription and ensuring legal compliance and product quality. This includes weekly strip packaged medications, compliance packages and all non-packaged products
• Responsible for ensuring appropriate corrections are completed when identified
• Accurately count and reconcile Narcotic and Controlled medications
• Responsible for checking products in an organized and efficient manner to maintain workflow and ensure delivery routes leave at their scheduled times
• Patient privacy and confidentiality is protected in accordance with regulations
• Keep current with and align with legal requirements, professional standards, and where provided, workplace policies and procedures
• Commitment to promoting a workplace of inclusiveness and belonging

What you bring:

• Licensed and registered with the College of Pharmacists as Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT), in good standing
• Liability insurance to legally practice as a RPhT
• A minimum of 1 year of continuous working experience in a pharmacy environment (Long Term Care, Hospital, or Retail)
• Experience with high volume filling environments is preferred
• Experience working with PacMed or PacVision is an asset
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
• Complete work with minimal supervision
• Teammate and Leadership skills
• Bilingual (English/French) is an asset
