We are seeking a highly skilled and motivatedRegistered Pharmacy Technicianto join our team. As a Registered Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in assisting pharmacists in providing comprehensive pharmaceutical care.

Position Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Accurately and efficiently check and dispense prescribed medications under the RPhT scope of practice under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Prepare, package, and label medications according to established protocols and regulatory guidelines.
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients and address their inquiries, offer guidance on the use of medications, and assist patient in understanding and adhering to their medication regimens.
  • Receive and process prescription orders, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and adherence. Verify patient information, prescription authenticity, and appropriate dosage instructions.
  • Monitor stock levels, perform inventory checks, and order medications and supplies as needed. Ensure proper storage, handling, and expiration date monitoring of pharmaceutical products.
  • Adhere to all applicable federal, provincial, and municipal regulations, standards, and guidelines pertaining to pharmacy operations, medication handling, record keeping, and patient confidentiality.
  • Check and prepare compounded medications accurately and safely, following established formulas and procedures.
  • Process and accurately record prescription claims, insurance information, and payments.
  • Assist and participate in vaccination clinics.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, medication profiles, and other relevant documentation.
  • Assist with pharmacy workflow optimization, including prioritizing tasks, coordinating with other staff members, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Participate in ensuring a safe and inclusive work environment.
  • Stay updated with advancements in pharmacy practice, pharmaceutical products, and relevant legislation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Registered Pharmacy Technician in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists.
  • Previous experience as a Registered Pharmacy Technician in a retail pharmacy setting is preferred.
  • Injection certification is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of pharmacy operations and prescription processing. Compounding experience is considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with relevant provincial and federal laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency in pharmacy software system (PropelRx preferred).
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail to ensure precise medication dispensing and record-keeping.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with patients, healthcare professionals, and other team members.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service and handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain confidentiality, integrity, and ethical standards in all aspects of work.
