Registered Nurse, Treatment & Rehab - G3/H3 - 1 position

Location: Treatment & Rehab - G3/H3, Parkwood Institute Mental Health Care, London, ON

Type: Regular Part Time

Salary Range: $39.07 - $56.00 /hour

Program Overview

The Treatment and Rehabilitation program at Parkwood Institute provides specialized mental health care to individuals living with severe persistent mental illnesses on both an inpatient and outpatient basis. We are involved in direct care, education of future clinicians, and advancing research. Our care philosophy is recovery-oriented, utilizing evidence-based treatment and rehabilitation interventions to support individuals in pursuing their life goals. We support both individuals and their families throughout their recovery journey.

Using client-centered principles within an interdisciplinary team, the successful candidate will provide nursing care to clients experiencing severe persistent mental illness.

Essential Qualifications
  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Valid CPR certificate
  • In-depth knowledge of major mental illnesses from a biopsychosocial perspective
  • Recent experience in assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of individuals with serious mental illness
  • Knowledge of psychosocial rehabilitation principles
  • Knowledge of the Mental Health Act and relevant legislation
  • Understanding of Safety Culture in healthcare settings per OHSA
  • Ability to establish positive interpersonal relationships and work effectively in a team
  • Excellent communication, organizational, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in French (asset)
  • Experience in mental health
  • BScN
  • Courses toward Canadian Psychiatry and Mental Health Certification (in progress or completed)
Teaching and Research

As part of St Joseph's Health Care London, affiliated with Western University and Fanshawe College, you will be involved in teaching and research activities alongside clinical duties.

Immunization Requirements
  • Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, Hepatitis B, COVID-19, and influenza.
  • Provide documentation of Tuberculosis skin testing.
