Qualifications

• Graduate of a recognized School of Nursing
• Baccalaureate degree required
• Current certification or eligibility for certification of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario is required
• Current BCLS required
• 2-5 years of recent surgical/procedural experience required
• Ambulatory care preferred
• Demonstrated knowledge, experience and the ability to care for patients with the following: IV therapy and administration of medication above the drip chamber, blood glucose monitoring, wound management skills, infection control practices
• Demonstrated ability to provide patient/family centered care
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, prioritization and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team in a fast paced environment
• Evidence of ongoing, current professional development
• Computer literate: Meditech, Word and Outlook
