Position Summary

Seeking a motivated full-time Specialist in Organ and Tissue Donation (12-month fixed term) for Mississauga area. The role involves guiding hospital policies, coordinating donation processes, and optimizing organ donation outcomes. Based at Credit Valley Hospital, supporting surrounding hospitals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct clinical assessments and manage potential donors according to guidelines
  • Serve as hospital liaison, developing and reviewing policies
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to facilitate donations
  • Communicate regularly with hospital teams and donor families
  • Maintain referral base and improve donation performance
  • Build partnerships and initiate practice changes to increase donations
  • Report data to TGLN and support resource requests
  • Assess medical history and support organ recovery procedures
  • Ensure safety and compliance with health directives
  • Work 8-hour shifts, participate in on-call rotations
  • Perform additional duties as needed
Qualifications
  • Nursing diploma or BSc in Nursing
  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Minimum three years in critical care or organ/tissue donation experience
  • Valid G driver’s license and reliable vehicle
