Interior Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Emergency department at Victorian Hospital of Kaslo in Kaslo, BC. The role involves providing nursing care in a fast-paced ED, collaborating with physicians and a wide health-care team to deliver patient-centered care in a supportive community setting.

You will engage in continuous professional development, maintain clinical competence, and participate in hospital committees or research projects as assigned.

This is a Permanent Full Time opportunity.

Shifts of work will be scheduled days, Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 17:00 hours. Stat holidays the ED is closed so no nurse is scheduled on stats. Supporting Long-term Care with nursing direction is required at times.

About this Location

Kaslo emergency has two beds and one treatment room and all emergency admissions are transferred to other sites. As the emergency Nurse, you will work closely with the Physician to deliver client-centered care by assisting individual clients and their families respond to changing health care needs. There is a very supportive wider team of healthcare professionals at this site, with a great community atmosphere.

Qualfications

• Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
• Advanced preparation in the clinical specialty of the assigned area as required by the position:
  • Emergency – Advanced preparation in an ED clinical specialty or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) within 3 years
