Job summary

North York General Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Telemetry Unit. The role emphasizes patient- and family-centered care, collaboration with an interdisciplinary team, and ongoing learning.

The ideal candidate will hold a nursing diploma or degree, be in good standing, and pursue Coronary Care qualifications within set timeframes. There is a 12-18 month part-time temporary contract with day and night shifts, including weekends.

Qualifications

• Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
• ACLS certification preferred.
• Telemetry experience preferred; acute care experience beneficial.
• Bilingual French/English is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in the Telemetry Unit with an emphasis on assessment, education, prevention, and restoration of health.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team and maintain clear communication with patients, families and health-care providers.
• Demonstrate leadership in charge roles, prioritize work, and participate in ongoing quality improvement.
• Maintain proficiency with computer systems, data entry and patient information systems.
• Respond effectively in emergency situations and contribute to a family-centered care environment.
