Job description

Interior Health is seeking an experienced and dynamic Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) to join our Mental Health & Substance Use (MHSU) Community Crisis Response Team (CRT) in beautiful Penticton, B.C.

About The Job
  • Function as a member of the larger Hospitals & Communities Integrated Services (HCIS) or Tertiary Mental Health Services multi-disciplinary care team.
  • Ensure that individuals with serious, severe, and persistent mental health issues, problematic substance use, and/or developmental disabilities who may or may not be in crisis have access to timely, responsive, evidence-based treatment and clinical supports across the available services continuum.
  • Provide assessment, treatment, case management, community support, and urgent response as needed to clients, including those with serious functional impairments in physical health and personal, family, financial, occupational, and social domains.
  • Act as a primary clinician utilizing various specialized treatment modalities and therapies for individuals, groups, and families.

We are seeking nurses passionate about working with mental health and substance use clients, capable of providing brief assessments in crisis situations, and adaptable to community settings, clinics, and acute care environments.

This is a casual opportunity, meaning hours are not guaranteed and may vary with short notice shifts. Casual employees are eligible to apply for internal postings, including permanent and temporary positions, with many opportunities starting from casual employment leading to regular roles.

Shifts are rotating days and evenings, from 09:00 to 20:13 and 11:47 to 23:00.
