In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health the Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse practices in accordance with the standards of professional practice and code of ethics as outlined by the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) as well as within a patient and family centered care model. The Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RN/RPN) provides and coordinates the delivery of psychiatric nursing care services to patients. Demonstrates nursing expertise and provides clinical leadership in evidence-based practices through direct care activities including nursing assessments, crisis intervention, patient and family education and health promotion activities. Sets priorities and assigns and delegates tasks to support staff. Consults, confers, and collaborates with other health care providers. When applicable to the job, provides nursing services for clients before, during and after undergoing Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) treatment both by working independently and as a member of an integrated care team.
