BC Women’s Hospital - Gynecology Surgical Servicesspecialize in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery in an ambulatory setting.

As aPost-Anesthetic Care Unit Nurse (PACU), you will experience the opportunity to:

  • Work on a rotating work schedule Monday to Fridaywith alternative Fridays OFF - There are no evenings, nights, weekends or on-call shifts.
  • Provide Peri-Anesthesia care to patients having surgery under:
  • Anesthesia or
  • PACU Nurse-led procedural sedation
  • Work with a passionate inter-professional team committed to delivering excellence in care for patients and families.
  • Expand yournursing knowledge and skills in specialized women’s health.

What you bring

  • Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as an RN with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM)
  • CPR Training – Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) – Level 1.
  • One (1) year of recent PACU or critical care experience or a combination of Critical Care Courses and Post Anaesthetic nursing courses or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

You will have the ability to:

  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Relate effectively to women and their families.
  • Participate as a member of multidisciplinary care team, and function as a nursing resource.
  • Physically perform the duties of the job.
  • Operate related equipment.
