As a Registered Nurse in Outpatient Care, you will:

  • Provide nursing care for clients in an ambulatory setting, working independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Enhance the quality of life for clients and their families.
  • Collaborate with team members and other healthcare providers.
  • Demonstrate leadership and expertise in nursing practice.
  • Maintain and develop your clinical skills.
  • Participate in hospital committees, teams, and research projects as assigned.

About Sechelt, BC

Sechelt is located on the traditional territories of the shíshálh (Sechelt) Nation, approximately 50 km northwest of Vancouver. About Sechelt Hospital

Sechelt Hospital is a 46-bed acute care facility serving over 30,000 residents of the Lower Sunshine Coast. It offers services including Emergency care, renal programs, mental health and substance use services, surgical services, low-risk maternity, and imaging.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Recent, relevant experience in outpatient care or with similar client groups, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Additional certifications may be required for specialized clinical areas.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Knowledge of nursing theory and practice within a client/family-centered model.
  • Understanding of BCCNM standards and the etiology, physiology, and treatment of relevant diseases.
  • Ability to plan, implement, and evaluate care plans.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, leadership, and technical skills.
  • Physical ability to perform duties and proficiency with medical equipment and CPR.
  • Basic computer literacy for patient care systems.
