Job description

Registered Nurse (RN), Oncology Chemo

The General Duty Staff Nurse is responsible for providing holistic nursing care to oncology patients during their cancer care experience, including assessment, intervention, symptom management, treatment coordination and administration, teaching, counselling, support, and follow-up, consistent with established policies and standards of care.

What you'll do
  1. Provide direct patient care to oncology patients, including assessment, reviewing history, and developing personalized nursing care plans considering psychosocial, cultural, and ethnic contexts. Deliver treatment as per prescribed protocols.
  2. Collaborate with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and modify treatment/care plans based on ongoing assessments.
  3. Administer medications, injections, blood products, and IV fluids as required, monitor reactions, and use judgment on when to consult physicians.
  4. Maintain accurate patient records, including assessments, communications, symptom management, education, and evaluations.
  5. Admit, transfer, or discharge patients according to BC Cancer policies.
  6. Assist patients in understanding their care plans and refer to other health professionals and community resources as needed.
  7. Ensure a safe environment by adhering to emergency procedures and safety policies.
What you bring

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current registration as an RN with the BC College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Current CPR (Level C) certification.
  • At least one year of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Job Details
  • Type: Temporary, Full-Time (Until June 30, 2025)
  • Wage: $41.42 - $59.52 per hour
  • Location: 600 West 10th Avenue, Vancouver
  • Hours: Monday - Friday, with specific start times
