Job summary

Interior Health is seeking an experienced and dynamic Registered Nurse to join the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team at Kelowna General Hospital in Kelowna, BC. The role involves assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating client care in a fast-paced ICU environment, with collaboration across the interdisciplinary team.

The position is a Permanent Part Time (0.95) with night shifts from 19:30 to 07:45, offering opportunities for professional growth and a range of IH benefits.

Qualifications

• Graduation as a Registered Nurse from an approved School of Nursing.
• Advanced preparation in a critical care clinical specialty or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) within 3 years.

• Practices in a variety of clinical settings and is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of client care.
• Works in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
• Ensures the delivery of client–centered care by assisting individual clients and their families respond to changing health care needs.
• Demonstrates a specialized body of knowledge and bases practice on nursing science and related content from other sciences and humanities.

Shift of work will be Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays, with days off Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

Shifts are nights, with shift times of 19:30 to 07:45.

About this location/unit:
Kelowna General Hospital’s (KGH) Multi-System ICU department consists of 19 patient care beds. RNs work 11.25 hour shifts and new nurse to patient ratios are 1:1.
