Registered Nurse (RN), Inpatient NRT

What you'll do
- Provide direct patient care by implementing the care plan, collaborating with the healthcare team to evaluate family-centered patient care.
- Plan and perform activities such as reviewing patient/family history, developing care plans, and discussing them with the team.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including healthcare information, nursing observations, interventions, teaching, and care evaluations.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers by explaining procedures, demonstrating equipment use, and assessing learning effectiveness.
- Participate in orientation and ongoing education of staff and students through preceptoring and mentoring.
- Identify personal learning needs, discuss them with the Program Manager, and engage in relevant educational activities.
- Act as a resource/support for patients, families, and healthcare professionals by explaining nursing decisions.
- Contribute to team discussions during care conferences, rounds, and meetings.
- Provide feedback on policies and procedures based on service observations to improve patient and family care.
- Ensure a safe environment by following emergency and safety protocols.
- Support research and quality improvement initiatives by participating in committees and staying informed through educational opportunities.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
What you bring
Qualifications
- Graduation from an approved Nursing program with current registration with BCCNM.
- At least one year of recent experience in a related clinical area or equivalent education and experience.
Additional Knowledge and Skills
- Understanding of the impacts of settler colonialism and systemic racism on Indigenous Peoples and a commitment to anti-racism and cultural safety.
- Knowledge of relevant legislative obligations and commitments, including TRC Calls to Action, UNDRIP, and others.
- Effective communication skills, ability to work in a multidisciplinary team, and organizational skills.
- Physical ability to perform job duties and operate related equipment.

Job Details
Type: Temporary, Part-Time (0.79 FTE until May 22, 2026)
Wage: $41.42 - $59.52/hour
Location: 4500 Oak Street, Vancouver BC
Hours: As per master OH #5; 07-19 and 19-07
