In accordance with Northern Health's mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities, the Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) practices according to the standards of professional practice and code of ethics outlined by the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM), within a person- and family-centered care model.
The CNE is responsible for identifying, planning, developing, and delivering training sessions to help staff meet their key competencies within scope. They compile, implement, and evaluate general and unit-specific orientation and education programs, facilitate the development and maintenance of preceptorship/mentorship programs, and participate in reviewing and revising patient care standards, policies, and procedures. The CNE also coordinates in-service programs to meet ongoing educational needs.
