The Opportunity:

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing care to residents in accordance with required medical care and professional nursing practice. This role supervises activities and provides direction to Registered Practical Nurses and Personal Support Workers.

What Is In It For You:

  1. Coordinates nursing and other services for residents within the neighborhood and with other services within the residence.
  2. Leads shift reports with members of the healthcare team, ensuring all team members are informed of changes in residents’ status.
  3. Records significant changes in residents’ condition; ensures documentation in the residents’ chart adheres to AgeCare policies, procedures, and relevant professional standards.
  4. Reviews and processes physician orders promptly, communicating any difficulties to the Director of Care/Assistant Director of Care.

What You Will Need:

  • Strong knowledge and background in geriatric, rehabilitation, or long-term care nursing, including activation, nursing, and personnel administration.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation such as the Fixing Long-Term Care Act and Regulations, Health Disciplines Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Pharmacy Act, Food and Drugs Act (Canada), Controlled Substances Act (Canada), Health Promotion and Protection Act, Personal Health Protection Act, Coroners Act, and standards of the Provincial College of Nurses.
  • Registration and membership in good standing with the provincial registry.
