The Opportunity:

The Registered Nurse (RN), reporting to the Director of Care, is responsible for providing direct resident care, medication administration, and documenting care in compliance with regulatory standards, Resident Health and Wellness policies, and procedures.

What You Will Do:

  1. Complete and ensure residents’ care assessments, service plans, and documentation are up to date; communicate changes to the Director of Care for billing purposes.
  2. Assist with scheduling residents’ care conferences and participate in them.
  3. Work closely with the Director of Care to facilitate residents’ move-ins and transfers.
  4. Order and securely keep drugs and narcotics; administer them in compliance with all regulatory requirements and policies.
  5. Facilitate and provide resident and family education.
  6. Supervise resident self-medication assessments and audits.
  7. Supervise and delegate care and medication responsibilities to Unregulated Care Providers, in accordance with regulations and policies.
  8. Plan, coordinate, manage, and evaluate residents’ care plans in collaboration with residents, substitute decision makers, physicians, the interdisciplinary team, and contracted service providers.
  9. Coordinate nursing team’s resident care assignments to ensure efficient and timely service delivery.

What You Will Need:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse in the applicable Province/State.
  • Experience working with seniors and unregulated care providers.
  • Education and experience in gerontology, rehabilitation, community, or long-term care are assets.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, critical thinking, care coordination, time management, and customer focus.
  • Demonstrated clinical knowledge and ability to delegate to unregulated care providers.
  • Maintain competencies as per governing College standards.
  • Proficiency in computer use and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Current (within 6 months) Vulnerable Position/Sector Screening (VPS).

Wage Leveling Salary: $41.42 - $55.91 per hour. Salary placement based on qualifications and experience.
