Do you have a passion for critical care nursing in a mentorship/teaching capacity? Royal Columbian Hospital (RCH) has an exciting opportunity for you as a critical care outreach nurse which will be based out of the Intensive Care Unit and supporting the in-patient units.
This multidisciplinary team responds to calls from in-patient ward staff within the hospital for critically ill patients. The goal is to work with primary care teams to recognize early signs of clinical deterioration and intervene quickly as well as facilitate the transportation for those patients requiring a higher level of care.

In accordance with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) standards of practice, the Mission and Values of Fraser Health and working collaboratively and in partnership with the interprofessional care team in the provision of person-centered care, the Registered Nurse provides direct patient care by assessing, planning, providing and evaluating nursing care to patients in the designated clinical area; acts as a resource to support acute care staff in the management of patient issues in the designated clinical area and in other areas of the hospital.
Education, Training & Experience
Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
Two (2) years’ recent related acute care experience and completion of a nursing program in the designated clinical area (critical care or emergency nursing), or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
