Under the general supervision of the Manager Health Services, and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface Hospital, the Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional registered nursing services for patients, including those with complex and unpredictable health needs. These services include independent nursing services, administration of prescribed medical treatments, a leadership role within the health care team, and coordination of patient care and discharge.

The Manitoba Nephrology Nursing Course is a full-time nine-week training program with a period of theory, labs and clinical experience followed by 1008 hours (equivalent to 6-months full-time) of work experience in dialysis. Successful candidates will be responsible for payment of tuition for the program. Reimbursement for the program is available.
**The candidate must be able to understand and speak French at a proficiency level that allows them to sustain varied in-depth conversations with patients and families. Language proficiency will be evaluated in order to assess the applicant’s proficiency level. For information on the required proficiency level, please contact the Human Resources Department.
If there are no applicants meeting the qualifications, the employer may consider an applicant who does not meet the above qualifications.
The successful applicant will be required to support Peritoneal Dialysis and will receive a three (3) week orientation to the PD unit.
