Overview

We are looking for a dynamic and motivated experienced nurse to join our busy Mersea Ward. This is a busy bedded elective/emergency surgical ward specializing in colorectal, upper GI, vascular and urology. In addition to receiving post-operative and emergency surgical patients, we also admit patients that are stepping down to the ward from Critical Care. You will be a key part of our ward teams and support the senior team in providing high quality care.

This is an excellent opportunity to join our friendly and busy team who are motivated in promoting the delivery of a patient-centred, clinically effective and dynamic service to our patients undergoing a surgical procedure. We are dedicated to developing our staff and there are various opportunities to continue to develop skills and a career pathway with the NHS. This is a great opportunity to continue or start your career within surgery where you will be supported in your career and professional development. Responsibilities
  • To meet the needs of the Trust with regard to Induction, mandatory and statutory training.
  • To work within the framework for Clinical Governance to provide effective, high quality individualised nursing care to patients and relatives/carers and to contribute to the continuing development of nursing practice.
  • To ensure high standards of patient care at all times, in line with Trust policies and guidelines.
  • To work as an effective member of the nursing and wider multi-professional healthcare team.
  • To work within the Trust’s Competency Framework for Registered Nurses, the Ward/Department Philosophy and the NMC Code of Conduct/Professional Standards for the Protection of Patients.
