Job summary

Groves Memorial Community Hospital in Fergus, Ontario is seeking two casual Registered Nurses for the Medicine department. You will participate in all three shifts, including weekends, and support ongoing patient care, assessments and IV therapy as required.

Applicants must hold a College of Nurses certificate of competence, BCLS & ACLS, and be certified to start IVs and administer IV meds. Defibrillation and pacing certification, as well as coronary care training, are preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in the Medicine department across three shifts and weekends as scheduled.
• Maintain high standards of patient assessment and monitoring.
• Support unit goals and contribute to performance improvement.
• Serve in capacity of charge nurse when assigned.

REGISTERED NURSE - MEDICINE (CASUAL)

Two (2) casual Registered Nurse positions are available in the Medicine department at Groves Memorial Community Hospital.

Qualifications

• Current College of Nurses certificate of competence
• Current certificate in BCLS & ACLS*
• Certified to start IV’s and give IV meds*
• Defibrillation and Cardiac pacing certification required*
• Coronary Care Course or equivalent*
• CVADS (Central Venous Access Devices) and 12 lead ECG preferred
• Recent experience in medical nursing including palliative care
• Well developed assessment skills necessary
• Commitment to serve in capacity of charge nurse
• Satisfactory performance and attendance required
• Satisfactory Reference Checks required prior to start date
• Must provide a Police Vulnerable Sector Check
• Must complete a Pre-Employment Health Assessment prior to being hired

• Superior communication, interpersonal and organizational skills necessary for effective patient and staff interaction in a busy, demanding environment

Hours

• Must be available for all three shifts, and weekends, as per department schedule
• All other contract rules apply

Salary

• $41.15 - $58.98 per hour
