Position Overview

The Registered Nurse (Medical) participates in patient assessment, care, and health promotion, adhering to the College of Nurses of Ontario standards. The scope includes care for medical, surgical, chronic, pediatric, obstetrical, rehabilitative, and palliative patients, often with complex needs.

Qualifications
  • Current RN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Current BCLS certification
  • Coronary Care 1 or equivalent (asset), ACLS preferred
  • Knowledge of cardiac, geriatric, medical, palliative care principles
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills
  • Attention to detail, critical thinking, and good judgment
  • Ability to provide education to patients and families
  • Adherence to safety, infection control, and professional standards
  • Basic computer skills and commitment to professional growth
  • Physical ability to perform duties including patient transfers
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Conduct assessments and develop care plans
  • Perform technical nursing skills safely
  • Respond to clinical variances and test results appropriately
  • Coordinate discharge planning
  • Provide patient care within scope of practice
  • Perform other duties as assigned
