Job description

SLMHC Recruitment Bonuses and Incentives
  • SLMHC Recruitment Bonus: $2,500 probation bonus, plus an additional $2,500 upon one-year completion.
  • Partnered with Health Force Ontario (HFO) under the Community Commitment Program for Nurses (CCPN), offering a $25,000 retention bonus for eligible nurses committing to 24 months of full-time work.
  • Additional CCPN Northern Incentives include:

A northern Top-Up grant of $10,000, paid in two installments of $5,000 after four and eight months of employment.

  • A Northern Relocation Grant of $10,000, paid in two installments of $5,000 upon employment start and after four months.
Job Summary

The RN is responsible for coordinating, assessing, planning, providing interventions, and evaluating patient care according to the Standards of Practice (RN College of Nurses of Ontario), aligned with hospital goals and objectives.

Qualifications
  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Current Basic CPR (BCLS) certification.
  • Preferred minimum of one-year experience.
  • ACLS/PALS/NALS certification and/or status preferred.
  • EKG/Dysrhythmia interpretation skills are an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills, non-judgmental attitude, team player.
  • Strong assessment skills.
Job Duties
  • Assist and provide relief in various hospital areas as needed.

  • Willingness to work the current 12-hour shift rotation.
  • Maintain regular attendance.
  • Adapt quickly to changing situations.
  • Maintain concentration despite interruptions.
  • Work effectively in demanding and unpredictable environments.

  • Provide culturally competent, respectful care per hospital policy.
  • Follow infection control policies, including hand hygiene and PPE, and attend related training.
Salary

$39.07 – $56.00, in accordance with the ONA Collective Agreement.
