Department/Unit Summary

3A CSU is a Regional Integrated Stroke Unit providing acute and rehab care, including lifesaving treatments such as TPA and EVT. It has 52 beds and receives stroke bypass from multiple hospitals. The team includes RNs, RPNs, CQCL, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, discharge planners, dieticians, stroke internists, hospitalists, and neurologists, working collaboratively in a research and quality improvement environment.

Key Qualifications
  • Current general certificate of registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • 1-3 years recent experience in Stroke/Neuro and Rehab Nursing preferred
  • Current BCLS certification
  • Experience in acute care
  • Knowledge of complex medical and cardiac conditions an asset
  • Commitment to ongoing professional education in Neuroscience nursing
  • Effective interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Critical thinking and leadership skills
  • Reliable, flexible, creative, and self-directed professional capable of effective teamwork
Position Summary
